Western South Dakota is home of the Cheyenne River Reservation,
the largest reservation in South Dakota, home to four bands of Lakota Sioux:
Minnecoujou
Two Kettle (Oohenunpa)
Sans Arc (Itazipco)
Blackfoot (Si Sapa)
Located in the north central part of the state encompasses Dewey and Ziebach
County. More than 8,000 American Indians live on the Cheyenne River Reservation
that comprises of 1.4 million acres. The absolute beauty of the prairie will
amaze visitors.
